Today was another great day, although tomorrow will surely be the best day of them all. Here's a quick recap of all that went down in Kyrgyzstan today:
We made the drive to Caleb's orphanage
& Bryan showed his creative photography skills

Our visit started off with Caleb having a delicious bottle. He likes to
put his hands on the bottle himself. He's Mr. Independent!

Then we had some fun play time. Mommy is so funny!

Caleb smiled big enough to show off his 2 little teeth!
Don't you LOVE the pink hat??

Then we read some books with Daddy

And took some family photos:

Towards the end of our visit we could tell it was naptime but Caleb was fighting the urge to fall asleep so hard! We were trying everything to get him to fall asleep. Finally one of the caregivers told us (using hand gestures & Russian) that he only sleeps on his tummy and cries if he is on his back. Although this is not the best idea since we know babies should sleep on their backs, we laid him on his tummy on a pillow on my lap. In a matter of minutes he was fast asleep! We're not sure what to do about this since we'd prefer to have him sleep on his back, but I guess the reality is he could just roll over to his tummy from his back if he wanted to! Regardless, we were happy to see the little guy finally take a nap!
After our 3-hour visit we came back to the hotel, took short naps and then went to dinner at a Swiss restaurant that is about 20 minutes from the hotel. The food was pretty good and we had a nice time. We jokingly referred to it as the Last Supper since we will not be having relaxing meals out at restaurants for awhile starting TOMORROW!

Tomorrow we will be leaving bright and early to get to the orphanage and pick up our little one. I still need to pack the diaper bag, get his Gotcha Day outfit ready and make sure we have all the gifts etc organized for the orphanage workers. We can hardly believe the time is almost near and the incredible blessing God has given us. We'll be sure to post more tomorrow as soon as we can! Please pray for all to go smoothly tomorrow and for Caleb to handle all the transitions well. Love,

LOVE the updates!! I feel like I'm there with you. Hope you enjoyed the "Last Supper". Don't stress too much about the tummy thing. You can always flip him after he goes to sleep. Hugs!!
Betsy, Caleb looks so strong and happy and I just cannot stop tearing up when I see pics of you holding him especially the one of him smiling at you- I just cannot handle it - SO PERFECT! Also quick question did you get to measure the other babies?
I will be thinking of you all this evening and tonight because that will be your gotcha day!
It is now past midnight in Bishkek. You have officially entered Gotcha Day. Yesterday I played a Russian Christmas CD that Alex used to love and I couldn't help but tear up and he and his friend danced around to the music. You will never forget this day!
I hope you have sweet dreams of your little boy, because that will be the last time you will have to dream about being a Mom and Dad! The day is finally here! You'll love it more than anything else in the world. Hugs and kisses to all of you. And thanks so much for keeping all of us back here SO informed! Love it!
Ha! I love the last supper comment. FYI the clink of silverware is the signal for a baby that it is time to scream his or her head off until the meal is cold! And you're not going to care, because he is finally yours ;) Can't wait till tomorrow's post.
In a few short hours, you will be on your way to pick Caleb up for good! Know that I am joyfully praying for you all.
I have studied these photos until I have them memorized..and what I see are 2 wonderful parents, joyful and relaxed, holding a beautiful baby boy who is obviously in love with his Mommy and Daddy. In a few short hours the 3 of you will be a "forever family." God bless you all and have a happy, memorable "Gotcha Day". Love, Mom
Bryan and Betsy, we are so excited for you and your family!!! The long awaited day has come and in a few hours your lives will change forever. Thanks for all of the updates and pictures. Please give our precious Asa one last hug and kiss for us. We can't wait to get the Texas duo together one of these days!!! We are praying for you guys. The Kahlers
