Greetings from T-town, where life has been moving at about 150 mph for our family! We have been busy, busy, busy over the past few weeks and although I have taken tons of pictures I have not taken the time to do a blog post. Over the next month, we will celebrate the 6 month anniversary of Caleb's Gotcha Day, Caleb's 1st Birthday, Easter, I'll have my last day at my job of nearly 6 years, we'll buy a house, move to that house, and Bryan will graduate from Medical School (Can I get an AMEN?). So needless to say we have a few things going on. I should probably make a To Do list but I have a feeling that once I look at it I'll probably start crying! The wonderful news is that our Caleb is more of a joy today than he has ever been. It amazes me how much he has changed over the past few weeks. He is so vocal now, has a huge appetite, has gotten so much better at crawling and has tons of personality. I feel so blessed to have him as my son and have been spending a lot of time thinking about where we all were a year ago when Caleb was born on the other side of the world. I could have never imagined the beautiful plan that God had for our lives, how He would bring healing and happiness in the tiny package of our sweet Caleb and how He would fill our home with so much joy and anticipation for what will come next for our son.
Rather than write paragraph upon paragraph of what has been happening in our lives since Match Day, I'll summarize below with the best medium possible.... pictures of our adorable son!
We had a visit from Great Aunt Nancy & Uncle Jim, who got to meet Caleb for the first time and bring him a fantastic (and loud!) Winnie the Pooh Choo Choo train.
My best friend Katy came to visit and help me prepare for Caleb's monkey-themed birthday party. The last time Katy saw Caleb he was just learning to sit up!

Aunt Katy brought Caleb a birthday present to open...

It's a special birthday candle to burn each year on his birthday! We think this might be the first & last time Caleb will be excited about getting a candle as a present :)

A recent development at our house is for Bryan to bring Caleb to our bed on weekend mornings. Their activity of choice is to watch Sports Center on ESPN. Amazingly Caleb will actually be still to watch it!

He's starting to look a little too comfortable in our bed...

We made another trip to Houston for a week of working for me. I only have one more trip to make before I become a stay at home mom! Although Caleb is not quite pulling up on his own yet, he loves to stand in his crib at my Mom's house!

Last weekend Caleb spent his first night away from Mom & Dad! Bryan and I went to a wedding and Caleb stayed with his GranJan and Grandpa. He had a great time and I think they did too! :)

On the way home from Houston we stopped in Chappell Hill, TX to take pictures of Caleb in the bluebonnets. He would only cooperate and sit still if he could hold on to his blue bouncy ball. We chose to pick our battles and let the ball stay in the pictures!

And last but not least - this is something we are seeing more and more when we go to get Caleb up from his naps.... him sitting up on his own! He's become a great crawler and can pull up on furniture with assistance. Being able to go from lying down to a sitting position is a new development and we are so excited! It is so rewarding to see him making steady progress on his development.

Thanks for stopping in to check on us! More posts to come this week as we remember the day Caleb became part of our family and also as we celebrate his 1st birthday!
