Today was Caleb's 18 month check up. I got him loaded up in the car, made him pose for the obligatory picture (he seems to know what is about to happen)...
...and then lo and behold MY CAR WON'T START! My car is only a year old so I never guessed it wouldn't start this morning. I vacuumed it out last night and I'm guessing one of the doors didn't shut well and so the battery died. Luckily Bryan was able to leave the hospital to come and take us to the doctor's appointment.
We got a great report on Caleb! The doctor thinks he is doing fantastic. Caleb apparently loves our pediatrician because he kissed her on the cheek (without prompting) three times! It was hilarious. Dr. Riser said he was a "little casanova".
Here are Caleb's stats from today:Height: 33.5 inches (79th percentile for non-preemies)
Weight: 24 lbs 10 ounces (31st percentile for non-preemies)
Head Circumference: I can't remember the measurement but it was 70th percentile for non-preemies
We are thrilled with his progress, especially since those percentiles are not adjusted for his 8 week prematurity! Way to go Caleb!!!

Go Caleb -- awesome stats!!! Especially when you know where he came from height and weight wise. I know you are really pleased!
Congratulations Caleb on so many milestones - 18 months and also 1 year from gotcha day. Betsy - you guys look so happy and I am so glad that everything is going well in your lives! We miss you in Houston but thanks for all of the updates!
I just caught up on your last 3 posts! OH MY what a stud in his little vest and outfit to the doctor - soooo cuteeeee! And I loved hearing all the great things he has been doing by 18 months. It AMAZES me how much they change the minute they hit 1 year til 2 years, watching Lainey and her older friend babies, it just blows my mind. They don't look as different as the first 12 monhts but mentally and emotionally it is crazy!!! Hugs!
