We had a great time this weekend staying with Bryan's parents, GranJan and Grandpa --- who is now known as "Pop Pop" thanks to Caleb! We had a fun visiting and watching Caleb enjoy the new toy kitchen at his grandparent's house. He loved "helping" Pop Pop put it together and even tried to turn the screwdriver a few times. Caleb's desire to help was often hindered by his need to carry around his blanket like Linus since it was nearing bedtime. While Pop Pop took care of assembly, Caleb had just as much fun playing in the box with GranJan. Caleb and Pop Pop also did some cooking together once the kitchen was assembled!
We spent Saturday afternoon and evening PARTYING! On Saturday afternoon we went to Craig & Michelle's for hamburgers and got to see all of the great home improvement projects they have completed at their house. Caleb took a nice long nap late in the afternoon while Bryan and I did some shopping. Once we were home it was off to several parties! We went to part of an engagement dinner for family friend James Brushwood and then headed to a Christmas open house at the Countryman's. Caleb was a great sport through all of the party hopping and it was fun for people to see how much he has changed in the past year.
On Sunday morning we opened presents with GranJan and Pop Pop. Caleb was so spoiled by all the fun presents! He got a table and chair set, a tricycle, a "Chuck the Truck" dump truck that talks, a shake & go Caterpillar vehicle, some doctor pajamas, books and a monkey bath towel. Caleb also got some Santa pajamas with matching Santa slippers which he is wearing in a lot of the pictures in this post. When Gran Jan helped Caleb open the dump truck he immediately started signing for 'help' because he wanted it out of the box ASAP! He also was able to easily identify that one of his books was about Jesus which made all of us smile. It was so much fun to see Caleb enjoy all of his presents this year! He is at such a fun age.
After church on Sunday we exchanged gifts with all of Caleb's aunts and uncles: Craig, Michelle, Carolyn & Billy. Caleb got a fun Christmas book (that was packed in a giant, fun box to play in!) and a signed football with football pajamas. We all devoured a yummy lunch of beef wellington and were all ready for naps! Sadly it was time for us to head back to Temple since Bryan is scheduled to work tomorrow - but we had a wonderful time visiting all of our family in "the big city"!
