Here are Caleb's stats, a few pictures and some of our favorite things about him at age TWO!
Height: 36 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 26.5 lbs (30th percentile)
Head: 48.5 inches (50th percentile)
Snack time outside with Daddy & Sophie
Banana & a juice cup, likely accompanied by many exclamations of "No no Phi!" when Sophie tried to share.
Driving his new firetruck
An unconventional way to exit the firetruck
Big boy at his 2 year old check up. Of course he had to bring his 'Jesus car' inside.
Riding in the red swing all by himself
Climbing with Daddy and then going down the 'dark' slide
Taking a break from playing with Mommy
Enjoying his tea cup until it was 'gah gone' (all gone)
Caleb loves all things that go, including 'wa-was' (firetrucks), 'cucks' (trucks), 'airn' (airplanes), 'car cars' (motorcycles or bicycles) and helicopters, which he makes a helicopter noise for.
Caleb knows about 75% of the letters of the alphabet and can count to 10 with some prompting.
Caleb knows the colors red, green & blue. He's not extremely interested in colors so far.
Caleb is very big on telling us if things are hot or cold right now and if the lights/fan are on or off. He'll say "ooooh dark" or "ooooh cold".
Caleb's favorite foods are raisins, chicken nuggets, bananas, grapes, tweet tweet crackers, Nilla wafers, yogurt, apple juice and of course the occasional sip of sweet tea!
Caleb can easily identify the baby Jesus, adult Jesus and the cross as being a symbol of Jesus. He loves to sing songs to Jesus at night before bed and tries to sing along to certain songs, especially "All in All".
Caleb adores his grandparents and talks about them daily. He remembers the make/model of each of their vehicles and notices them on the road. He also has a knack for remembering different items that they have given him.
Caleb is social and loves to go, go, go. It's common for him to stand by the door to the garage in his pajamas and say, "Mama's car?" because he wants to get out of the house and do something!
Caleb loves going to our wonderful local parks, which he calls a 'bop'. His favorite is Whistlestop Park by the train station, which he calls "choo choo bop".
Caleb loves to play with his friends Nellie, Caroline, Katelyn and Parker. We find that he will call any child who is slightly shorter than him a 'baby' even if that child is only a few months younger than him!
Caleb loves to be outside playing in his sandbox, on his slide, with balls or with trucks. He especially likes to boss Sophie around and tell her "No Phi, No!".
Caleb loves to watch Handy Manny and Chuggington on The Disney Channel. He also loves Elmo ("Melmo") & Cookie Monster.
Caleb knows several shapes: circle, heart and star. He calls circles "kurkles" and loves to shine a flashlight on the ceiling and walls to make "kurkles".
Caleb can sing (in his own little way!) Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and The Itsy Bitsy Spider. He likes to follow along with you and do hand motions for those songs. He also loves to sing Old McDonald and can sing along to various parts of the song when we listen to it in the car. Caleb often requests that we listen to that song when we drive past cows on a certain road here in Temple!
Caleb is truly God's gift to us and a way that He has shown us what answered prayer looks like. He brings us constant joy and purpose and reminds us of what is important in our lives. Caleb is energetic, intelligent, determined, silly and sweet. We love him with all our hearts and are so thankful to have him in our lives!
