Happy Campers

Last weekend we went on an overnight camping trip with MCO, the medical student ministry we are a part of.  We went to Lake Whitney State Park near Hillsboro, TX which is about an hour and a half away.  We set out bright and early on Saturday morning and ended up having a group of about 20-25 people.  Bryan and I elected to leave sweet Caleb at home with my parents since we didn't think his first try at not sleeping in a crib should be in the woods on an air mattress :)

We had a fantastic time on our trip, but boy was it HOT!  Luckily our 3 campsites were on the lake and we were able to walk down a rock ledge and have lake access.  We enjoyed grilling on Saturday night and breakfast tacos on Sunday morning.  Of course we managed to make a trip into small Whitney, TX to go to the ice cream shop to cool off, too.  I think the cashier was shocked when 20 of us strolled in right before closing!

We are so blessed by this group of friends and always leave from our time together feeling encouraged!  We are looking forward to more camping trips in the future... hopefully next time in cooler weather!!  Here are some pictures to document our fun trip:

Some of us brought tents, including Bryan and me.  Our tent was experiencing its maiden voyage out into the wilderness after sitting in the attic for nearly 3 years!

Our site didn't have electricity to blow up our air mattress so we drove around the campground, found power, blew it up and drove it back on top of my car!

One of Bryan's attendings, Jodi, brought her pop up camper and her two older kids Cole & Anna Kate.
