When It Comes to Food, Caleb Doesn't Joke Around

I got 2 new pictures of Caleb from our agency today!! I was so excited and anxious to see them, especially since the e-mail included the comment, "He is upset in the pictures because his bottle fell out of his mouth."
Let me tell you I am not surprised! The Little Peanut had quite the personality when we were there and showed us that he can be very stubborn and focused. When he was ready to eat or sleep he was more than willing to let us know. He's a good communicator.
Here's one of the pictures. It cracks me up because it reminds me of his personality. At the same time it makes me sad too. I want to get on the next 19 hour flight to Kyrgyzstan so I can hold him and make sure he enjoys each and every feeding.

It seems likely that he is upset about the bottle, but it's also highly likely that he is ticked off because:

a) he is still in a pink shirt

b) his pants are pulled up 3 inches above his belly button

Also, is it just me or does he look like the longest baby ever in that picture??? He was 24 inches when we were there a few weeks ago and I swear he must have grown another inch based on that picture. He must have been inspired by meeting his 6'5" tall Daddy.
Our agency is also going to weigh him tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed for some good weight gain!

So precious, I know you have mixed feelings seeing that pic but he is just so dang cute! My first thought before I read your post was the same thing - he is crying about those clothes! Thank goodness mom and dad Pickett have sent some clothing to him this week. Hehe!

Love you, J

Whoa! 24 inches - he's definitely no preemie anymore (ella was 25 in at her 4 month check-up!). He looks like he is doing GREAT (except for the clothes of course ;-)). It's so great that they send picture updates!

Good grief! 24 inches long. Little Man was 24.4 when we saw him. Your little man is going to be as tall as my little man. That pink shirt cracks me up. Tom said he would be crying too if he had to wear that shirt and then have his picture taken for all to see. He is too cute!!!

Those pink clothes crack me up too. Hopefully those new blue clothes will arrive soon and he can settle down!

Alex was dressed head to toe in mis-matched denim when we first met him...with his signature "Mongolian Scowl" on his face. That was quite a sight. While I never saw him dressed in too many girly clothes (just bad ones), he definitely wore polka dot tights with white girl sandals one day. That was awesome. I have a picture somewhere. Saving it for his wedding.

Poor little guy! Messing with his food AND wearing pink! Life is rough when you're so cute ;)

So they couldn't wait a minute to click off another shot?! He is looking good! Long and lean and I notice his hands open and moving...just wonderful! Maybe it's actually the block bottle holder he's protesting. You try to lay on your side at that angle and swallow ; )

Hugs,

Clare

Hey, at least he is a fighter! You go Caleb. Let them know you want some attention!
He is sweet beyond the frustrations.
