In addition to looking like us in many ways, it has become apparent that Caleb also shares our sense of humor because he played a big joke on a family visiting his orphanage.
The latest word from Kyrgyzstan was that Caleb made the day today at the orphanage... he peed all over Karla's husband Mike!! I guess his diaper gave way and Mike was the closest target. Luckily Mike is a guy with good reflexes because he managed to jump up quickly. We owe Mike & Karla some som's or dollars to help cover the dry cleaning bill! :)
Mike was also able to get a few little smiles out of our dear Caleb. Hearing that really warmed my heart because when we were there he was not at the point developmentally to be showing us a sweet smile. Knowing that Caleb is happy and developing well all bode well for the care he is receiving. We are so thankful for that and thank God for giving us that kind of comfort and peace in such an uncertain time.
Here is a picture of our sweet little boy giving a sneaky half-smile to Mike. I noticed that he is dressed in yellow now in this picture rather than pink. Is it possible that he peed his pants on purpose so he didn't have to wear pink anymore??? ;)

Oh Betsy I love his sweet smile. He is indeed a prankster and yes I bet he did it to get that pink thing off of him. It is great that you continue to get updated photos to cherish. Take care!
LOL! That is so funny Betsy! Yes, he is likely to be a willful one, and probably did it not only to get the girly clothes off, but also to demand some nakedness! Too cute...I love that he's starting to smile : )
Big hugs for Caleb and for you,
Clare
HAHAHA, welcome to having a boy (though Scarlett has peed on us too)!! It doesn't get any better than that. If it makes you feel any better, Alex has been potty trained for MONTHS and he had not just one but TWO pee-on-the-floor-at-preschool accidents today. Makes me want to cry. I hate regression.
Well, a boy's got to do what a boy's got to do -- to get some appropriate clothing. He looks SO happy. I love the smile. It's the THING I'm waiting on -- the smile when I go back for her!!! He's growing like a weed, girl!!
Oh what a little prankster! Oh my gosh, he is so adorable. What a precious smile.
