Road Trip to Visit Katy & Travis

On Tuesday morning we hit the road to make the 3 hour trek to Boerne, TX where my best friend Katy and her husband Travis live. Caleb slept the entire time so we managed to drive the whole way without stopping!

Once in Boerne we had a great time visiting with our wonderful friends. We took Caleb swimming in a big pool for the first time, had a delicious fajita dinner and watched a movie together after Caleb went to sleep. We had such a relaxing visit and were reminded of how blessed we are to have such great friends. If only Temple & Boerne were a little bit closer!

The next morning Bryan, Katy and I took Caleb to the zoo for the first time! We were a little worried when Caleb fell asleep in the car as we drove up to the San Antonio Zoo, but he woke up and did great! We stayed for about 4 hours and Caleb was in a great mood most of the time. He enjoyed looking at the animals, seeing other kids at the zoo and being outside riding around in his stroller. The zoo had a petting zoo and a special section called the "Tiny Tot Nature Spot" that was intended for children under 5. Caleb really enjoyed both of those areas and especially liked the aquariums we saw. He really liked how close we could get to the fish and being able to see them swim around. We had great weather and it was not too hot so that was nice too! At the end of our zoo trip we rode the train around the zoo. Caleb's first trip to the zoo was very memorable for all of us!
