Happy Days at Home

After Caleb's vaccines on Wednesday he clearly felt crummy. He was fussy, slept more and had very little appetite thru Friday. We were worried because he wasn't eating very much and also didn't seem to be tolerating the Enfamil very well. On Friday night we made the decision to switch to Similac because it supposedley has fewer of the 'fatty acids' in it. Our pediatrician said that was likely causing him the tummy upset. We're now already switched to 100% Similac... Goodbye Russian formula!
On Saturday Caleb woke up a much happier baby. We were so happy he was feeling better, especially since Bryan's parents, sister and our future brother in law were coming to Temple to visit Caleb. We had a great weekend with them and think he really enjoyed all the attention! He was having so much fun that he even skipped a few naps so he wouldn't miss out on all the action!
We've also seen some progress on how he's coping with bathtime. He still cries during his bath but the crying isn't as bad. He also managed to be calm and happy by the time he was wrapped in his duck towel and even enjoyed having the baby lotion put on afterwards. That was a first as he normally acts like it is some kind of child abuse!! This weekend Caleb also starting rolling from his back to his stomach. Previously he was only going from his stomach to his back, so we were happy to see him reach that milestone.
The thing we are happiest about is the incredible increase in Caleb's appetite. Our pediatrician wanted us to give him at least 30 ounces a day. On Saturday he met that goal and yesterday he had almost 40 ounces! We're glad to see him hungry and enjoying his meals. Hopefully he'll be a little butterball before Thanksgiving ;)
Here's one last photo of Mr. Cool Baby sporting his sunglasses!

So cute and I am so happy to hear of all the good things Caleb is doing: bathing, eating, rolling, and enjoying life with his new mommy and daddy!

I'm so happy to hear that Caleb is doing well on his new formula. He looks great...(especially in his new shades!) You and Bryan must be pinching yourselves to make sure this has all really happened :) I know I am...I just couldn't be more thankful. Caleb is a gift, straight from heaven by way of Kyrgyzstan! BTW, Happy BD Bryan!

I would get soooo excited when Scarlett would eat extra (and totally panicked when she didn't). I would go so far as to force feed her with her medicine syringe! It's amazing how they really do make up for lost calories when they are ready!

I LOVE the little ducky towel - he looks absolutely pleased with himself. For what it's worth - I think the similac should work - all the babies I know that have been on soy formula have ended up on similac because it's easier on their tummy! Before you know it he'll be pulling up and crawling!!! So fun!!!

Precious little duck! I am glad things are going so great and I am just amazed (but not in the least bit surprised) at how quickly you are reading your son and adjusting things to make him happy and eating great! I think I have been a slower learner. I cannot wait until one day I can meet him! In the mean time I am loving all the pics and updates!
