We've had a busy couple of weeks with unpacking, throwing a going away party for our friends, and my birthday last week (more on that in another post!). Caleb has been keeping us busy too! He is doing great on eating more table food - and even finally feeding it to himself! We knew he would start to do this when he was ready and are thrilled with his progress. We have been giving him more and more table food and also slowly introducing milk products which he has tolerated well. Some of the foods he enjoys so far are green beans, turkey, avocado, waffles, yogurt, cheese, scrambled eggs, bread, bananas, and of course sweet potatoes. :)
Here are a couple pictures and quick updates on what Caleb has been up to!

I found him trapped under the Leap Frog music table the other morning trying to reach a ball. Poor baby, Mommy took a picture first & then rescued him!

For the first time today Caleb actually held his own bottle. He has shown little or no interest in doing this thus far, and we have been ok with that since it allowed him to rely on us and bond during feeding time. We are excited to see this change though, as it is another big step for him! Could his legs look any longer in this picture??

At the suggestion of the physical therapist today, we are doing an exercise where we let Caleb stand independently in the corner. We then let him throw his favorite soccer ball to us and practice bending over to pick it up! He seems to really enjoy it. At this point he is a speed crawler and can pull up and cruise very well - he's just not confident enough yet to let go and take independent steps.

We bought a baby gate to put in our dining room - aka the play room - to help give Caleb a safe place to play while Mommy cooks or takes a shower! Although the bars make it look like a jail, he really has fun in there!

Lastly, I don't have a picture of this - but for the first time last night we left Caleb in the church nursery while we went to a class. (Normally he sits with us during church and we go to the cry room if he's too loud). I was really anxious about how he'd do but once he saw they had new, different types of balls to play with he was pumped! He did great in the nursery and only got upset when another baby cried. He's a sensitive little guy :)
