On Sunday night we hosted a 'Farewell Fiesta' at our home for our dear friends Nathan & Kristen. We have been blessed to know them throughout our time in Temple. They have been an integral part of the Medical Student Bible Study that we joined when we first moved here. That ministry has now grown into "Medical Campus Outreach Temple" which is an organization that ministers to medical students and their families. We are so excited to be a part of this growing ministry and thankful for the work that Nathan & Kristen have done to help get things started. As Nathan finishes his opthalmology residency in June, Nathan and Kristen will be answering God's call to serve the people of Peru as missionaries. We are so sad to see them go but confident that God has something incredible in store for them. We know He will bless them for their obedience, selfless hearts and willingness to serve Him even if that means moving to the mountains of Peru.
We had about 35 people at the party on Sunday and it was a blast! We had yummy Mexican food and even made Nathan & Kristen take a couple of swings at a pinata just for laughs. The weather forecast predicted rain all weekend and through this week. I was so relieved that there was on rain on Sunday evening so we were able to use our backyard for entertaining!

I keep trying to tell myself that we'll have email and phones... and that Peru isn't really that far, right?

I have two very close friends, and BOTH are leaving to be missionaries! One to Shreveport, and the other to AFRICA! I know they are both doing the Lords will, but I secretly pray that His will could change a little so I could keep my friends close :) It's a real bummer when people go and listen to the Lord, right?! Just kidding, of course :)
