On Tuesday I got an email from our adoption agency saying that we are now officially approved! I was expecting the formal review/approval process to take two weeks, but instead they had it done in one week. The next day Caleb and I drove to Waco (he did not want to go and said, "Bye Waco!" the entire way there). We dropped off our next phase of fees and the birthmother scrapbook that I created on blurb. I am really pleased with how the book turned out and hope that it will be a special keepsake for our next child's birthmother. We didn't stay at the agency for long because Caleb was running around like a nut! Afterwards we ran a few errands in Waco and had a Mommy/Son lunch date at Jason's Deli. The ice cream cone was definitely Caleb's favorite part! He has been asking for ice cream ever since.
Our agency has been really good about not making any leading statements about how long they think we'll wait, when we'll match, etc. I really think it is wise on their part to encourage us but not mislead us about things which are out of their control. I have to admit there is a part of me that wishes they'd give us their best guess, though! It's hard to not know if they think we'll get matched in a week or in a year! I'm trying to be patient and trust God's timing, and in the meantime use any nervous energy to get things done around the house. So far I've cleaned baby items out of Caleb's closet and worked on cleaning out the items stored under the guest room bed and in the guest room closet. I've also done extensive internet browsing to figure out what crib and bedding I'd like to get this next time around. I guess adoptive mommies 'nest' too! ;)

Around the House
Just a few fun, random pictures of Caleb around the house.
After church on Sunday, I found Caleb 'playing' on the floor. He was so tired he couldn't even play sitting up while I made lunch!
Sweet happy boy :)
Later that week Caleb asked to do "dot dots" with "song on", so we got out his coloring toy that plays music.
He was very focused on his work!
We went to friend Katelyn's neighborhood pool this morning. Caleb refused to wear his hat while swimming but insisted on wearing it in the car on the way home and throughout lunch.
I finally convinced Caleb to play with something other than the "Cars" matchbox cars. This afternoon there were lots of fires in the hallway. Caleb alternated between pushing the cars in the hallway and occasionally stopping to rub "Roar" (his lovey in the hallway floor) on his mouth.
With his "trash can truck"
So proud of all his vehicles lined up perfectly in the hallway
Swimming at Gran Jan & Pop Pop's
When we were in Houston last weekend Caleb spent Saturday morning and early afternoon with Gran Jan and Pop Pop. He had a great time playing at their house and going swimming! Pop Pop got Caleb some floaties to wear in the pool, and although he was a little uncertain at first I'm told he warmed up to them quickly and did some swimming around in the pool. Here are some fun pictures that Tony & Jan shared with me.
I was glad that Caleb got to spend more time with Pop Pop before he headed to Brazil on a lengthy business trip the following Monday. Caleb is blessed to have two fantastic sets of grandparents who he loves to spend time with!
